Whether you are a beginning golfer or one who has been enjoying the game for years, most likely you can appreciate the benefits of strength, flexibility, and focus in your game. A balanced, flexible body is the foundation of a good golf game. Incorporating elements of a yoga practice can help you develop the mental discipline and physical requirements that golf demands.
In this workshop we will explore the breath as a means of focus and staying centered. Moving through poses you will learn ways to improve your strength and flexibility giving way to a greater range of motion, fluidity, balance, and symmetry. And since yoga is a practice that brings balance to both sides of the body, it will help you build stability in your backswing as well as well as your follow through.
· Learn how to connect breath with movement
· Understand what it means to have balance in the body
· Explore poses to strengthen your non-dominant side and to stretch and open your tighter, dominant-side muscles
· Discover new ways to improve your game and how to “stay in the zone”
For this workshop, please bring your own yoga mat (if you have one) and your five, six, or seven iron to use both in demos and in a few yoga poses. Please wear comfortable clothing (think gym or exercise wear, not your golf course gear).
