Open hanging. Artists will come to the gallery and hang their own work so VAE can showcase the exciting and broad range of art being made in the area. $5 for members, $10 for non-members. 2D and 3D artwork accepted. Works cannot exceed 36″ in any dimension. Non-juried. Artists may hang 1 artwork.Visual Art Exchange (VAE), the oldest private non-profit visual arts organization in Raleigh, is dedicated to serving emerging artists and enriching the cultural environment. VAE offers monthly exhibits, operates a retail gallery, conducts an annual student scholarship competition, provide arts education and development opportunities and installs exhibits in public venues. VAE's City Market gallery hosts 12 juried and non-juried exhibitions each year with monthly exhibit themes. All gallery exhibitions are open to the public five days a week and during monthly First Friday gallery walks at no cost. Some of the themes include VAE's Young Artists Exhibit and scholarship competition for Wake County K-12 students, the N.E.W. (Never Exhibited Works) juried exhibition, and an educational art exhibit geared at teaching the community about a new or unusual form of art.
